I am Swimming

I am a Fish ~ In an Eye ~ In a House ~ On a Farm

The air is water. I am water. Protected and encumbered, by a roof and walls. I am here, on plastic. Red plastic. My fingers move on plastic squares, with a roof, over my head.

I see my future. Many people. Rules, lines, plastic cards.

Smile ~ don’t forget to smile.

A fish does not smile. A fish swims.

I am a fish.

My Kind of Christmas

Matthew 14:17-21
They said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.” And He said, “Bring them here to Me.” Ordering the people to sit down on the grass, He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up toward heaven, He blessed the food, and breaking the loaves He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.
They all ate and were satisfied. They picked up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve full baskets. There were about five thousand men who ate, besides women and children.

Day 4 ~ Picture Perfect/Not

I have been reluctant to write.IMG_3815

Last Sunday was an exceptional day in my life.

It’s fall.

And I got to surf in one of my favorite spots.

There were just a few locals in the water.

Everyone was friendly.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I caught all the waves I could, and then headed to my favorite fishing spot.

I caught this Jack. I know it doesn’t look like much.

But I had to bring him in through this wave.  I was trying to catch a trout, but that wasn’t happening. Either I couldn’t get the fish on the hook, or I’d lose it in the wave.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Then it was back to the Hacienda.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Encountering others, out on the trail of their happy destiny.

It was a picture perfect day. I documented with my Olympus TG-2. These are not perfect pictures. But I had fun. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

*I’ve been reluctant to write, because of my concerns about the internet. In my life, I trudge the road to my happy destiny. Trudge meaning to walk with purpose. I felt I had to slow down, so I did.

Fish Head

Can you guess which one is the REAL Fish Head?

Two days ago, I caught this fish. It’s a red bass. My first, big, red bass. The fish latched aholt (I think this is a Southern term.) of the hook and swallowed it so hard, it would have been difficult to loose. But I didn’t know that, at the time. I reeled that fish as it swam hard, towards the rocks. It did everything to get away. That fish and I became one. The tide would pull it in and I would have to reel fast. The the tide would pull back and I could barely hang on. I was not going to let any slack in that line. I had to be strong to bring that fish on to the bank. I felt bad as it was drawing its last breath. It was so colorful; red and gold. It faded as the seconds went by and the sun set behind us.

Thirty years ago the Real Fish Head took me fishing. He latched aholt of me and like that fish I had no idea how set that hook was.

Rise Up and KISS

~The Fish~

Last night, I started writing my post. I began with my discovery of Costa Rica. I was trying to relay how coming to this country was a spiritual quest. I was answering the still small voice in me, that said, “GO”.

Answering that voice use to be scary; now, it’s old hat. I practiced, practiced, practiced!

My post got too wordy, and too bogged down, trying to share my experiences. It seemed important, but proved difficult.

This morning, waking anew, I just want to tell you the results of my spiritual adventure~I rise up and enjoy the day the Lord has made~

Regardless of my circumstances, that is what I do.

Trying to live here in Costa Rica, brought me to my knees, and that’s obviously a good place for me to be.

Keep it Simple Silly
