I’m Pregnant

To all of my regular readers, thank you. We have hung in there.

This is still a personal journal, but with a new twist. I have joined a writer’s group. I never thought this would be possible here in the tropics. I am grateful. Once a week I get to meet with other writers and artists. We have discussions about the how to get our work out there.

As most of you know, I have gone to lengths to not be noticed. To obscure my posts. I do no monetizing. I have zero AI. I pay 100 dollars a year to not allow advertisements. It would hinder the curating of my photos.

I have much work to do. Many have left WordPress for Subs Stack but I am going to stick with this. Why not? I get to tell my stories, share my photos, and it satisfies my intellectual tech studies. There’s always something new.

Our writing, group leader Gary Westphalen presented us with a photo of a cat and mouse. It was a prompt to write a poem or a short piece. Short enough to read to the group.

I’m pregnant was what came to mind. It emerged from my subconscious. Probably due to 100 year old information I found out about a relative. Everything is on the internet – 23 and Me – Ancestry.com – Police profilers – yada yada.

The Bible tells us everything that is done in the dark will be seen in the light. Were they prophesizing the Web.

You Can Run But You Can’t Hide. It’s a fact of our modern lives.

I chose to illustrate this concept, with a 3b pencil and eraser. Cutting and taping – old school.

It’s a creative desire to maintain my soul. To not be enveloped by all things cellular.

* A side thought – from the time that I became connected – in the early nineties (the birth of the web outside of Cern was 1991. My introduction to computers was in 83) I have watched computers go from huge consoles to a pin on your shirt. They consume people. It reminds me of the movie -  The Blob. It’s getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

Watch yourself. We have been struck by a meteor. Who wants to be phagocytosed.
